Challenge

ABC, Inc. was interested in offshoring a part of its software development activities to India . ABC was undecided whether it should to out-source software development work to an Indian vendor or establish an Offshore Development Center by itself. ABC felt that the legal, financial and logistical challenges associated with establishing and running its own ODC would place undue demands on its management bandwidth.

Solution

Ujwal took end-to-end responsibility for incorporation and commissioning of ABC's ODC, sparing the latter the challenges associated with the same. Ujwal used its long experience with Indian business terrain to ensure that ABC's Indian operations were up and running in the short period of one month from the time ABC decided to establish its ODC. Ujwal also outsourced non-core support functions like Accounting and Finance, HR, Office Administration, etc. from ABC. Ujwal has assumed end-to-end responsibility for the performance of these functions.

Result

Entrusting the responsibility of establishing its ODC to Ujwal helped ABC reap benefits of off-shoring much sooner than would have been possible otherwise. Out sourcing of support functions to Ujwal has helped the ABC management focus on core business areas. The quality of support solutions rendered by Ujwal has positively impacted employee satisfaction levels at ABC's ODC. ABC has also realized significant savings vis-à-vis a situation where it would have run the support functions in-house.
